Modesto, CA – Today, Congressman Josh Harder announced that he had earned the endorsement of the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC). PORAC is the largest law enforcement organization in California, representing over 77,000 public safety members and nearly 1,0000 smaller organizations. The organization did not make an endorsement in the 2018 race for the Tenth Congressional District.
“This endorsement is an incredible honor – it’s thanks to the work we’ve done alongside the Valley’s finest to improve police-community relations and ensure our local departments have the tools and funding they need to fight human trafficking and drug smuggling,” said Congressman Harder. “This is a tense time in America, but our top priority should be bringing together our police and community members to ensure everyone feels safe.”
In the letter announcing their endorsement, PORAC thanked Congressman Harder for his “willingness to keep the avenues of communication open and [his] concerted efforts to seek our input on issues involving public safety and law enforcement.” The letter is available upon request.
Congressman Harder has joined law enforcement officers throughout the district for ride-alongs to get a better sense of their day-to-day work – including in Turlock, Modesto, Tracy, and with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department.
